I'm A Failure
Work has been insane, so that took up three months. (A few weeks of three meager hours sleep spread out over three or four days... very painful, but very boring). And then we actually took our very first real vacation in NINE YEARS! Sorry for the all caps, but we GOT ON A PLANE. And WENT SOMEWHERE. Somewhere that DIDN'T INVOLVE A FAMILY WEDDING.
And not just that, but it was MAUI!!! Four days, so okay, two days on a plane and only two and a half days in paradise, but still. MAUI! US! NOT WORKING! NO WEDDINGS!
They had to drag us back on the plane kicking and screaming, and I've been a bit resentful of having to go back to work full speed. But it was enough of a success that LB is even willing to DO IT AGAIN SOME DAY!
yay.
And I am inordinately pleased with this, too:

Wow, happy vacationing... that sounds utterly delightful. It hard to imagine time away from work that is not attached to work or family stuff.. though, we are giving it a go in July...
I had to take the test as well. I was in the negative numbers.... I am clearly a sucky wife and mom - ala' thirties style.. maybe even new millenium style..
I feel a little funny, like I should thank the feminists for working so hard to create a world where I can be a foul-mouthed, party-happy, overworked, self-sufficient slob... Except for the rampant dust bunnies, I wouldn't change a thing!
That's a test I can guarantee all my friends would flunk with flying colors. hee hee.
I am in awe of your non-regressive wifely-ousity! Go with the negative numbers!
Congrats on failing that test.
Maui is awesome. Scott and I went to Hawaii for the first time in March and, like you, it was our first time going somewhere together that was really and truly a vacation. We even got engaged somewhere off the coast of Maui, so that place has special meaning for us.
Hey! Congrats on the engagement! That is so cool!
